Our client currently has a great opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join their team based in Glasgow City Centre. With over 50 years’ experience, this family owned business pride themselves on investing, growing and developing their employees for future progression within the business. As a Procurement Manager, the main purpose of the role is to manage/oversee the procurement team in all contractual, financial and supply-chain matters. The Procurement Manager will have the opportunity to play a key part of the organisations management team and will be expected to drive innovation, problem solving, quality and collaborative working; you will also get the opportunity to join an expanding business.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Responsible for leading a successful procurement team/function
- Supply chain management; negotiations, payment terms, performance reviews ect
- Contract management
- Cost savings and monitoring company expenditure
- Ensuring cost, contract and estimate numbers are accurately taken
- Preparation of monthly reports
- Involvement in the pre-tender procurement process
What do you need to apply?
- Significant experience working as a Procurement Manager within a multi-site environment across a national network, preferably within the construction/plant hire/engineering industry.
- Strong experience in the delivery of purchasing goals in the areas of service, quality and cost reduction.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Sound understanding of contract law and a high level of computer literacy.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills and proficient in completing supplier agreements.
- Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with successfully whilst developing strategies with suppliers.
- A CIPS qualification or equivalent knowledge gained through on the job experience.
