The Role
As Procurement Manager, you\'ll play a crucial role in supporting the commercial procurement activity surrounding property maintenance and refurbishment projects and ensuring the success of their mission. You\'ll lead procurement activities, develop innovative strategies, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive excellence in procurement practices. In this company, they do a mixture of call-offs from established frameworks as well as full end-to-end tenders, so you will need to assess the most appropriate route to market which will deliver the best results whilst achieving the best value for money.
The Commercial team is responsible for the provision of a continuously improving commercial service to the wider operations delivery teams providing procurement, quantity surveying, materials management and fleet management services, but excluding areas such as corporate services / tech procurement etc. This entails striving to achieve value for money and ensuring the effective commercial management of projects to support the operational teams in the successful delivery of timely and cost-effective repairs, maintenance and facilities management.
This role is responsible for providing a procurement business partnering service across the property maintenance side of the business, ensuring that procurement is undertaken in a timely manner and the approach taken complies with regulations. You will liaise with, and advise, colleagues on approaches to achieving the best value for money with compliant routes to market. The role also monitors compliance with frameworks, ensuring regular contractor monitoring activity and maintenance of performance records. This includes preparing documentation for tender and co-ordinating the drawing up and signing of contracts. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for line managing a Coordinator, so you will need to be a confident and engaging leader of people.
To be considered for this role, you will need
- A proven track record in procurement management within the build, construction, home building or facilities management industry, including the management and coordination of all associated processes
- Implementing and monitoring contract performance measures
- MCIPS qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge and experience of working in a regulated procurement environment
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong IT skills with the ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly
