Procurement Manager

Outstanding Procurement Manager opportunity with a rapidly expanding, £18m t/o Engineering/Construction business. Joining the company in this newly created role you will be responsible for the purchasing of all material, services and sub-contractor needs of the business, including reviewing current supplier resources, identifying and appraising new supplier resources, negotiating favourable supplier agreements and managing supplier contracts. Your remit will include:
* Creation and implementation of best practice procurement vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures.
* Working closely with the Finance Director, Project Managers and Operations Director to drive operational performance.
* Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.
* Performing all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management.
* Managing the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of procurement for the business.
* Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
* Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners.
* Creating policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation, ensuring that they meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery of targets.
* Controlling spend and building a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
* Analysing and forecasting to ensure stock levels are optimised.
* Reviewing and implementing logistic strategies.
* Ensuring that procurement projects are properly managed and delivered in line with the agreed targets, standards and procedures.
* Ensuring all purchasing is in line with department budgets.
* Providing reports to management, key performance data and monitoring cost savings.
* Reviewing and negotiating existing agreements to optimise commercial terms.
The Finance Director is happy to consider both experienced Procurement Managers - who have previously been the No 1/lead for all Procurement business activities - or someone who has worked in a senior level Procurement/Buying role who is ready to make the step to a Manager role. Excellent people/communication skills are essential as the role will involve building strong business partner relationships with colleagues across several UK sites and a broad supplier and subcontractor base. You will also have excellent Financial and numerical skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a talent for networking and negotiating. A CIPS qualification is preferred but not essential. This is an excellent opportunity to join a rapidly expanding business in a role offering the opportunity to develop and take on further responsibility. A salary of £45-50k is complimented with benefits including, 24 days holiday, 3% Pension, hybrid working (minimum 3 days in the office), and flexitime around core hours of 10am - 4pm.
