About the role:
A leading University situated in London is seeking an experienced Procurement, Manager, to support their Procurement team at their central London headquarters.
The Procurement Manager will have effective communication and stakeholder management skills to work closely with all business areas, including senior management.
Purpose of the Post:
To aid the university staff in the delivery of best value through professional procurement practises and processes at all stages of the procurement cycle.
The Procurement Manager will have previous procurement experience and proven track record of delivering value for money results for a wide range of goods, services and works at various stages of the procurement cycle, including full FTS/OJEU tendering using Public sector Frameworks and contract management with responsibility for delivery of procurement benefits including financial savings
Main Responsibilities:
- From drafting the procurement strategy to undertaking associated procedures and practices, manage delivery of specific procurement projects and areas as directed by the Head of procurement services
- Lead competitions of varying complexity and value within the estates category of spend
- Manage and facilitate targeted reviews with corporate and cross-functional teams to improve procurement practises
- Deliver training and guidance to ensure compliance and best procurement practices
- Utilise and modify existing procurement tools and models, including electronic based systems to deliver continuous improvement
About you, skills and experience required:
- The ideal Procurement Manager will have the following knowledge, skills and experience and Possess CIPS level 4 qualification, this is an essential requirement
- Proven experience of strategic category management for a rage of indirect services including travel, facilities, financial, IT, marketing, training, professional services etc o Excellent knowledge and experience of procurement processes and best practice (public and private sector procurement experience desirable)
- You need to have a good understanding of Public sector and procurement including a good working knowledge of procurement legislation covering PCR 2015 and UCR206
- Experience of developing category strategy and implementing change o Experience in contract drafting and negotiation
- Excellent numerical, analytical and commercial skills o Good IT skills to include wide experience of Word documents, Excel spreadsheets (including pivot tables and charts) and PowerPoint
