SalaryInsight Executive Group are delighted to be working in partnership with a Local Authority who are looking to recruit a Procurement Project Officer. This is a full-time permanent role, based in North London with a starting salary of £45K.
The role of the Procurement Project Officer is to play a critical role to the success of an effective Procurement service for the organisation by managing Procurement Projects. To provide expert technical information, advice, and guidance on all aspects of procurement process to internal customers and deal effectively with third party supplies as external customers. To work flexibly across all categories of expenditure and Departments to provide a resilient professional and customer-focussed procurement service to the council.
The Procurement Project Officer will be responsible for:
- To manage the end-to-end procurement process for projects of low to medium value, up to below and above current Public Procurement thresholds.
- To support Category and Assistant Category Managers on projects of high value and/ or complexity.
- Proactively work with and support Procurement Category / Assistant Category Managers, Stakeholders and Suppliers to determine innovative and appropriate ways of undertaking future procurements.
- To provide quality advice and guidance to internal customers on all aspects of the procurement process, supported by expert technical knowledge including relevant legislation and best practice.
The Procurement Project Officer will be able to demonstrate:
- Expert knowledge of the procurement process, ideally in a public sector environment.
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of private sector procurement, including relevant legislation, and a willingness and aptitude to become expert in this.
- Experience of managing end-to-end procurement processes, ideally in a public sector setting.
- Experience of working on high value, complex projects with multiple stakeholders
