Location: Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire, UK - Hybrid (Predominantly a home based role with bi-weekly travel to the office and production sites)

Reporting to the Head of Co-products, you will steer the Blends team towards sound business strategies and decisions that will improve performance and elevate customer satisfaction. You will have overall responsibility of managing the product area of blends, soda wheat and compounds including budget management for this team. You will be vital to the success of our KW business by managing the supply, demand, and sales of the blend’s product portfolio using your knowledge of external markets to get the maximum trading value from products.

This will be a varied role within a fast-paced environment, with the ability to resolve complex challenges whilst overseeing the sales for 7 sites across the UK and managing a team of 6 product specialists and trading leads. You will work closely with our supply chain team to ensure we are working effectively and efficiently with a strong focus on S&OP.

You will also work closely with our direct to farm team and Blends procurement to ensure our farm customers are offered the most sustainable and quality feed products that meet their needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leadership of the D2F (Direct to Farm) Blends team including sales strategy and managing key accounts and promoting sales growth.
  • Overseeing the sales and supply planning of the blends portfolio. Manage the Blends feed relationships with direct to farm customers across the UK, prioritising nutritional, and consultancy customers where there are limited volumes, working with the trading lead to create distribution plans where required.
  • Build and develop positive supplier relationships to enhance collaborative sales opportunities which facilitate product growth.
  • Be the lead driver of sharing market insight across KW Feeds with a key focus on Direct to farm segments.
  • Develop and maintain effective key customer relationships within the D2F segment to provide expert advice and market intelligence.
  • Cultivate a proficient product-centric team empowered with the skills and responsibility necessary to enhance overall team effectiveness. This includes strong and consistent people leadership, communication, and the vision to create an agile working environment.

What you'll bring:

  • Significant communication and relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate and influence a number of customers, suppliers, specialist teams and stakeholders.
  • Practical commercial and strategic experience with demonstrable experience of achieving targets.
  • An understanding of the fundamental drivers of the UK Agricultural industry, ideally dairy/ruminant.
  • Commodity market experience with a comprehensive understanding of suppliers, markets, technical & fundamental analysis would be highly beneficial.
  • Experienced people manager who can empower, motivate and support the blends team to success
  • Good analytical and organisational skills with the ability to interpret market data & emerging trends
  • Previous budget management experience and exposure to S&OP would be desirable.
