Hybrid Working
We have a Hybrid approach to working here at Starling - our preference is that you're located within a commutable distance of one of our offices so that we're able to interact and collaborate in person. We don't like to mandate how much you visit the office and work from home, that's to be agreed upon between you and your manager.

At Starling we spend our time building products that we’re really proud of. We focus on the experience, often delivering things with real polish but sometimes making a fast strategic move. We’re always working closely and collaboratively with our engineers to solve problems, build new products and improve existing ones. Specifically for this role, we’re looking for someone who will be able to provide ownership and insight for our business toolkit product, and our business customers more broadly. We think this role might suit a qualified accountant that has lots of advisory experience in practice and is keen to help improve the way businesses bank. You’ll need to keep up to speed with regulation as well as accounting standards, to ensure our products and processes are fit for purpose.
Requirements
You will be responsible for:
- Continued maintenance of our set of SME business products, including our business toolkit
- Keeping abreast of regulatory updates, for example tax changes that could impact our business customers
- Working closely with our Customer Service leads and Product QAs to make sure we maintain a high quality product and identify trends or problems
- Helping understand business customers needs to deliver Business Banking products that solve real problems in Business Banking and accounting
About you
- This role would suit a qualified accountant or someone who’s familiar with submitting accounts and managing business finances
- You need to be interested in how small businesses operate and their banking needs
- Someone who’s hands on, keen to learn and can deal with ambiguity
- Someone with experience identifying the most important issues, compromising with others involved and coming up with the best solution possible
- Ideally have worked with tech teams before helping to get things built
Interview process
Interviewing is a two way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you! Our interviews are conversational and we want to get the best from you, so come with questions and be curious. In general you can expect the below, following a chat with one of our Talent Team:
- Stage 1 - 30 mins with one of the team
- Stage 2 - 60 mins interview with two team members
- Stage 3 - 45 min final with an executive and a member of the people team
