Our Product Management team is looking for people to help inspire the organisation and our customers, to go 'somewhere new', by ensuring we successfully deliver our products and helping to build a portfolio of next generation data, services and platforms.
We want you to contribute to the transformation of OS, deliver commercial growth and empower our customers to meet their goals. Most of all, you'll play a critical role in helping OS to realise its vision: to be recognised as world leaders in geospatial services; creating location insight for positive impact.
About the Role
Due to internal promotions and a busy, growing team, we are looking for our next generation of Product Managers to play a key role in managing our products, which are used by customers across the Public Sector and OS Partners for a wide range of applications. You will define and deliver Data Products and services to fulfil user-centric propositions, balancing market demand, technical feasibility and affordability with a focus on great user experience. To achieve this, you will employ user-centred design, continuous customer engagement and market analysis. You will also build strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Working closely with the wider Product Management team, data experts, and other key stakeholders, you will manage a portfolio of products through their lifecycle. You will define and implement product improvements, resolve product quality issues and create and deliver product roadmaps. You'll also be responsible for creating and maintaining product collateral and leading product performance reviews. To achieve this, you will engage with external customers, liaise with colleagues on business, operational and technical aspects, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
You'll be looking after our Contextual Data Products
These products include VectorMap Local, VectorMap District, OS Open Zoomstack, OS OpenMap - Local, 1:25k and 1:50k Raster, OS MasterMap Imagery, Terrain 5 and future enhancements to this portfolio.
What we're looking for
You will be a self-starting professional who has a strong interest in geospatial data, its application, and customer benefits it can deliver. You should have a background in product management or product development in the private or public sector
These roles will focus on products and propositions for our Contextual product portfolios, working with our government and partner channel to understand the needs and opportunities in this space. Therefore, a background working with Data Products is desirable
Excellent understanding of customer needs and market insight, with the ability to translate this into a product roadmap for future product development
Proven track record of championing your products and propositions internally and externally to ensure the execution of the product strategy, product-led investment programmes, marketing and sales engagement
Good knowledge of user-centred design and experience in driving engagement with key customers, partners, and external stakeholders to ensure that product plans reflect a deep understanding of customer needs
Proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with operational and customer facing colleagues to design and deliver product enhancements within expected targets
Commitment to relevant professional development and market understanding to continue to provide the appropriate support to the business
Experience and knowledge of sectors that use OS data, for example, Land and Property, Emergency Services, Government or Utilities and Environment would be desirable, but not essential
