Production Assistant (Bakery)

We are looking for a hard-working and reliable individual with a good work ethic and a proactive attitude to join our friendly team as a Seasonal Production Assistant. The primary responsibilities include ensuring all products are prepared and baked to the required standards, cutting and boxing products for dispatch, this is part of producing our range of gluten free products for retail and wholesale customers. The successful candidate will be required to communicate clearly with co-workers and management, be friendly and approachable and must have relevant and demonstrable baking skills & experience.

Full Job Specification:

JOB POSITION - Production Assistant (Seasonal)

Assistant to Head Baker

Hours TBC with extra hours available in peak season potentially up to Full-Time.

Primary Responsibilities:

Baking and learning key recipes for retail and wholesale orders.

Baking batches of tray bakes in high volumes to tight deadlines each week.

Cleaning surfaces / equipment / deep cleaning / general kitchen portering.

Cutting, packing and labelling of products ready for dispatch.

Learning about company products and baking methods.

Understanding company ethics, background, essential company procedures and policies and product knowledge.

Duties and Responsibilities may include:

Prepping, Baking, Mixing, Piping, Organising, Cleaning, Serving customers, Sorting ingredients, Performing stock takes, Keeping accurate records, Patisserie work, Other Duties as required

Key Attributes / Skills Required:

Reliable / Dependable

Clear Communicator

Good Time Management

Previous baking experience within a commercial kitchen (1 year + preferred)

Experience with sugar paste / Fondant advantageous

Experience with piping advantageous

Previous baking portfolio would be advantageous.

Basic food hygiene knowledge or certification.

Knowledge of allergens and cross-contaminations in foods.

Experience of working as part of a Team

Working to at a good speed to a consistent high standard

Keen to adapt and learn.
