Production Engineer Required!

Our client is a well-established design and manufacturer of energetic materials and blast protection products, as well as, developing pyrotechnic products and payloads for integration into ordnance systems. They provide a range of products and services to security forces and defence manufacturers. Due to their ongoing growth, they now have an exciting opportunity for a Production Engineer to join their Manufacturing site in Trusley.

As Production Engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation of production processes and procedures, leading productivity improvements with project-based activities, including new product introduction and manufacturing process design to reduce waste, improve quality and safety, and reduce operating costs.

Production Engineer - Position Overview

• Produce models and technical drawings of tooling and process equipment.
• Installation, set up and delivery of operating instructions.
• Production flow modelling
• Compliance with applicable H&S legislation.
• Asset management and configuration control.
• Liaising with line manager on processing and updating operating procedures.
• Regularly checking the machinery and checkpoints to ensure safe and efficient workflow.
• Compiling reports about production and providing management with updates
• Managing the repair or replacement of faulty production equipment
• Plan project schedules and ensure the availability of necessary materials and equipment.
• Ensuring all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly.

Production Engineer - Position Requirements

• 5 years hands on practical engineering experience
• 2 years in a production manufacturing role (desirable)
• Competent in 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks), models and drawings
• Competent IT user, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Powerpoint)
• Good understanding of MRP systems
• (Essential) GCSEs in Maths, English, Science
• (Essential) Degree or higher in Engineering related subject
• Good understanding of 5S manufacturing principles.
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• The ability to cope with pressure and make sound decisions quickly.
• A firm understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Confidentiality and a requirement to be security vetted.

Production Engineer - Position Remuneration

• Starting Salary: £25,000
• Hours: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm
• 20 Days Holiday + Bank
• Pension
