We are looking to engage with experienced Production Managers who have demonstable knowledge around the Plastics and Automotive sectors.

Due to a rapidly growing requirement, our client has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Manager. You will play an unusual position as a Production Manager in a newly formed team.

As part of this new project, you will be constructing and taking the product through a test and validation process to deliver for current/future defence projects which will allow maritime infrastructure to reach new heights allowing performance in a variety of operational missions.
Every day, you'll be in charge of managing a group of multidisciplinary workers who are in charge of the build.This includes overseeing the construction, installation and integration of Mechanical and electrical systems.

The role:

• You will manage and lead the team by setting an example and modelling their values.
• You will keep an eye on the status of all work in relation to the pre-established plans and make sure that all work is carried out within our contractual requirements.
• Advise on the implementation of a fully functional production line.
• Ensure the Production Team leader is briefed on any issues or changes that may influence the build progress.
• Manage the Health and Safety of all employees and visitors within a zero-tolerance health and safety culture.

Essential experience of the Production Manager:

• Experience of supervising and managing multi-disciplined teams with a diverse skill set such as Welders, Fabricators and Fitters.
• Experience in running a full Production operation.
• Knowledge and experience working with Polymer products.
• Knowledge and experience of mechanical systems, equipment installation and outfitting.
• Ideally you will come from a Automotive or Plastics manufacturing background however, candidates from other highly regulated and heavy industries will be considered such as Oil and Gas.
  

Qualifications for the Production Manager:

• Time served or ONC or HNC within Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication or Welding is desirable however, we value difference and don’t have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience within the full Production spectrum then we would like to hear from you.
  

Whats on offer:

• This role is full time and permanent position at 37.5 hours per week and will be based onsite within Cardiff with great motor-way links.
• Salary up to £50,000 Negiotable depending on experience.
