Production Operations Manager Southampton
A global Engineering company is currently recruiting for a Production Operations Manager to join their team in their Southampton site.
As Production Operations Manager you will manage, control and supervise all operational activities across the site to include scheduling, coordination between the departments and customers to expedite production
You will be leading positive Health and Safety behaviours across the business and provide management of the operations team to deliver results in line with budgeted performance. Identify training needs for workshop staff and ensure employees remain up to date with all Work instructions and procedures.
You’ll manage the workflow in each section of the service centre and work with supervisors in the scheduling of jobs and allocating resources to maximise efficiency of operations.
What they are looking for;
- Strong Engineering background and good operational management skills
- It would be great if you have any experience with motors, generators, electrical equipment, pumps and rotating equipment or relevant transferrable skills
- Previous experience in a Production/Manufacturing environment
- You will have a strong Health and Safety awareness and ideally NEBOSH/IOSH certification
- You’ll be able to demonstrate use of continuous improvement/process improvement techniques (Lean, 5S etc)
- Good understanding of KPI’s in both delivery and establishing key milestones for the team
- You will have a good people leadership background
- A customer focussed individual who can build good relationships through tailored solutions
