The role
As a Programme Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll ensure the delivery of all projects are delivering and risks are being addressed to ensure delivery of the programme to time, cost and quality.
Day to day, you'll be accountable for the performance and results of multiple related teams.
- Develop departmental plans and priorities to deliver business objectives and drive delivery against these through leading and influencing others, primarily managers and senior grade professionals.
- Maintain a longer-term performance focus and contributes towards the strategy for your business unit / function, typically reporting to an executive level role.
- Build excellent relationships with the client in order to mitigate risks and keep the programme on track;
- Work with central finance team to track benefits sign-off and changes to budget;
This role is full time - 36 hours and will be based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard with hybrid working from home arrangements.
Essential experience of the Programme Manager:
- Experience or knowledge of a Project Management Office, working with or in previously.
- Experience in delivering business improvement initiatives, including continuous improvement outputs.
- Experience working on projects/initiatives, including people, process and technology change
- Experience of using APM framework and methodology to deliver/support projects
- Knowledge and understanding of lean and project/programme management practices would be advantageous.
Qualifications for the Programme Manager:
- PRINCE2 or MSP Managing Successful Programs (or equivalent) qualifications would be beneficial.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
