Project Accountant 3 Month Contract

Our client, a dynamic and innovative tech company, is seeking a Project Accountant to take charge of a critical tax project as a result of their expansion in the US.

This role will be responsible for managing the complexities of multi-state sales tax obligations, ensuring compliance with the groups 'Nexus' requirements. It requires a meticulous approach to data management and an ability to navigate the intricacies of US sales tax laws.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of the tax compliance project, providing regular updates to the senior management.
• Analyse and manipulate data to determine the extent of business conducted within various states.
• Conduct a thorough nexus review and facilitate the implementation of Avalara for automated tax compliance.
• Assist in the cleanup of bank mandates and contribute to process documentation.
• Engage in additional projects, such as statutory account preparation, as needed.

Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant preferred, will consider Part-Qualified.
• Proven experience in project management with a track record of successful delivery.
• Ability to reconcile inconsistent data from multiple sources.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Certinia (FinancialForce Certinia).
• Knowledge of US sales tax regulations and nexus liabilities is advantageous.
