A highly reputable Mid sized Bank are seeking a Business Partner with projects experience to join them for 12-13 months on a Fixed Term basis.
This role supports a Head of Financial strategy on a team of 5 to deliver on 8 different projects that the Bank are currently running. With an enviable reputation & client base, this vibrant Bank offer exceptional benefits, a generous bonus and a great social culture.
Purpose:
Enhance the Bank's financial reporting and control in the Project management space and support the Transformation, Technology and Project Management Office teams deliver the Change agenda including future impact on run the bank (Technology Costs);
* Work closely across the Finance team, the Project Management Office (PMO), Technology and Project Managers (PMs) to support all finance activities in the Change space as part of the bank's strategic Transformation agenda.
* Ensure key controls are in place for critical Change and Project accounting elements, including review and production as appropriate of various reconciliations, project budgets & forecast, Purchase Order reconciliations and key project closure documentation and audit evidence.
* Input in to overall Technology forecasting, including project impact on BAU costs, including recharges and impact of projects on future supplier costs, both reductions and increases
* Lead the finance elements of the R&D annual claims process
* Support the month end reporting close, particularly ensuring that all project costs, depreciation, amortisation and WIP transfers are updated in a timely and controlled manner.
* Participate in the year end audit, ensuring that information requirements are delivered on time, with least budget overrun whilst maintaining good relations with internal and external audit.
* Embed strong processes to mitigate risk in the financial reporting & control environment in the space of Change and Project management, ensuring that all processes are documented in up-to-date policy and procedure documents.
* Support development of the wider Finance team and their goals.
* Preparation and presentation of relevant financial information and analysis to ensure stakeholders make informed decisions.
* Deliver robust Project budgets and forecasts to provide robust and transparent views of the Change spend
* Lead on the R&D annual claims process worth c.£1m of additional annual income
* Help the PMs deliver the Transformation agenda by taking over the burden of financial budgeting and forecasting
* Support and monitor new IT Transformation with finance, control or reporting implications.
* High quality interaction with the bank's internal and external auditors.
* An expert who colleagues can approach to discuss financial and non-financial implications.
* Continuous improvement, development and insight of project financial reporting and control processes to ensure that the books are closed in timely and accurate fashion.
