The inspection report praised all areas of the College's provision and acknowledged NSCG's 'positive, stimulating and safe learning environment', 'highly motivated staff', and 'learners' exemplary behaviour and attitudes to learning'. It also highlighted the fantastic partnerships the College has with industry.
The group is currently home to a population of over 5,000 full-time students and around 350 students on higher education programmes. We have over 4,000 part-time or adult learners and 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 800 individual employers.
At present, we have invested £25 million in a new Technology & Engineering facility at our Stafford site, which opened in September 2023. We are also leading the development of the forthcoming Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology (IoT), a collaborative project also including Keele University and Burton & South Derbyshire College. This includes the further investment of around £20 million in the flagship IoT Hub, also to be based at Stafford.
This post will successfully apply for and lead range of curriculum-focussed projects to support help drive and embed innovation across our College. To be successful in this post you, should have excellent organisation and administrative skills, ideally with experience of coordinating projects, and working with a range of stakeholders to ensure projects are successfully delivered.
The role will focus initially on three main projects:; Local Skills Improvement Fund, Higher Technical Education Skills Injection Fund and the Institute of Technology. It is anticipated that the post-holder will combine a creative, inspirational approach to developing and securing funding for new projects with a pragmatic approach to ensure successful delivery of projects and the embedding of new practices within NSCG.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and contribute to applications for projects and activities that align with NSCG's strategic direction, including collaborative projects where appropriate.
- Manage the successful delivery of a number of projects as agreed with the Director of IoT and Employer Partnerships.
- Develop delivery plans, project milestones and impact measures for the agreed projects.
- Liaise with internal/external colleagues and partners to ensure successful project delivery and compliance with administrative arrangements.
- Liaise with funding organisations and relevant organisations to ensure projects meet performance and administrative requirements.
- Put in place and implement appropriate monitoring, evidence and evaluation arrangements for each project.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Has excellent bookkeeping and organisation skills.
- Is able to communicate effectively with colleagues, employers, partners and other stakeholders and can act as a credible and enthusiastic advocate for the College externally.
- Is creative in developing innovative projects that can deliver tangible improvements to benefit students with both internal and external stakeholders;
