Position: Project Engineer - Manufacturing Research and Technology Development

Nixor is currently partnering with a leading automotive brand, and we are seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to join the Manufacturing Research and Technology Development (MRTD) team. As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, leading, and delivering technology projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver technology projects as directed by the Lead MRTD Engineer, ensuring adherence to time and budget constraints.
- Work within cross-functional teams to assess new technology opportunities at key stages in the technology management process.
- Contribute to the creation of technology strategy and business plans, including the development and status of technology roadmaps.
- Provide support to Production Engineering teams and other Engineering Specialists for effective handover of technologies during the Technology Creation and Delivery System (TCDS).
- Collaborate with external agencies, universities, and research organizations, as well as internal resources within Powertrain Manufacturing Engineering (PTME) and Powertrain research.
- Identify and liaise with equipment suppliers offering relevant technology solutions for evaluation.
- Contribute to the definition of departmental and functional standards and protocols.
- Develop and create new or modified Bills of Process to best capture project learning and new methods.
Skills Required:
- Experience in a process engineering role within machining or assembly, preferably in powertrain or similar components.
- Proven ability to work in an environment where knowledge development is required in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Record of proactive project delivery with commitment to meeting deadlines and budgetary management.
- Ability to lead groups internally and externally, working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics.
- Good knowledge of MS Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project).
- Valid UK driving license or other suitable arrangements for personal business travel, and by extension, a willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on occasion, for product and project launches.
Skills Preferred:
- Experience in project management of technology projects from inception to final handover.
- Powertrain knowledge, particularly in the field of electric vehicles (EDU, Battery, etc.).
- Experience in research projects and government-funded collaborative projects.
