Project Manager

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Project Manager with a construction/fit out/maintenance background to join a well-established, dynamic, and growing business. Our client is a busy design, build, and reactive maintenance company working predominantly in the domestic, commercial and public sectors. They are seeking a Project Manager who has experience on the tools with a trade background who understands the hands on element of construction works. 

Our client is looking for a hands-on Project Manager with experience of running projects of various sizes with construction experience in public & private sector. You must have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to manage a varied workload and work well in a fast paced and reactive environment. You will need to work well unsupervised, be highly methodical and be effective in managing your own time. Some travel and flexibility in working hours will be required as this will also managing projects on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Overseeing the full project management of multiple sites from the inception to completion stage.
• Project planning, managing programmes and site supervision to ensure work is completed within timescales and budget set.
• Managing health and safety, including compiling risk assessments and method statements.
• Maintaining regular communication and attending meetings with clients.
• Visiting site regularly to access and maintain quality management.
• Leading the team to complete projects to a high quality standards that exceeds the client expectations and is snag free.
• Procurement of materials, identifying trusted suppliers to complete projects without delays.
• Dealing with any unexpected problems that may occur during the project.
• Assisting with monthly valuations by recording project activity and expenses.

About you

• Demonstrated experience in project management and contract management within a similar role. 
• A full driving license.
• A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
• Strong understanding of site health and safety. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) and NEBOSH qualified preferred but not essential.
• Self-sufficient with the ability to use your initiative to overcome problems.
• Ability to effectively communicate to understand the client requirements.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to deliver the best customer service.
• A resilient team leader with the ability to motivate the workforce to perform well under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communicator with the ability to foster long-lasting positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Computer literate and an understanding of Microsoft Office products.
