To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity to join our Infrastructure division. SOCOTEC is the UKs largest independent construction materials testing division, delivering seven million tests a year to more than 5,000 clients either in our laboratories or on-site. SOCOTEC offers the widest range of testing, inspection and certification services in the UK. Our sampling and testing methods are based upon current British and European standards and are accredited by UKAS.
MAIN DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
- Oversee routine and advanced structural and pavement investigations
- Project management of structural and pavement investigations from bidding to reporting
- Site management of teams of technicians, allocated from laboratories, in the performance of their duties
- Undertaking of GI works such as WS, SPTs, trial pits
- Liaison with clients
- Preparation and timely delivery of reports
- Effective communication with internal and external subcontractors
- Maintain company profile
PERFORMANCE MEASURES- Timely completion of tasks
- Occupation rate and profitability of projects
- Accuracy of testing and associated administration and attention to detail
- Adherence to all HSE requirements
- Adherence to all Quality Control procedures
- Time keeping
- Zero complaints
- Increasing market share and expansion of client base
JOB HOLDERS PROFILE- Competent in the execution and reporting of structural and pavement investigations
- CSCS, PTS, PASMA, NRSWA and IPAF trained
- Understands the purpose of the tests, what the results mean and how they are used by our clients
- Full and proper understanding of relevant testing standards
- Willing to comply with test procedures/standards, Quality and Health & Safety requirements
- Ability to motivate self and team members to achievement of goals
- Reliable and diligent with a flexible approach to work
- Willing to learn
- Results focused individual. Prepared to work additional hours and be able to work under pressure at times when required to meet client deadlines
- Prepared to work weekends/ nights and at times away from home
- Self-motivated; customer focused
- Respects client confidentiality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
