Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a diverse portfolio of complex Open Space projects aligned with the Council's strategic objectives, including Open Space Strategy, Carbon Net Zero Action Plan, and Tree Management Strategy.
- Create robust business cases for park investments, conducting thorough research and analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective greenspace management strategies, staying informed about policy changes and technological advancements.
- Implement strong project governance, managing cross-departmental teams and external consultants to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Oversee project budgets in compliance with financial regulations, providing timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Design procurement strategies and manage the procurement process for consultants and contractors, adhering to relevant legislation and regulations.
- Cultivate relationships with various stakeholders, including community groups, funding bodies, and residents, ensuring stakeholder engagement plans add value to project delivery.
- Lead project communications, collaborating with the Public Affairs team to promote projects through various media channels.
- Manage fundraising projects in coordination with parks management and grounds maintenance contractors.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in IT, particularly strong Excel skills

Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree level education or vocational equivalent
- Relevant project management qualification or demonstrable project management experience
- Strong project management and stakeholder management experience
- Knowledge of parks management policies, legislation, and best practices
- Familiarity with procurement regulations
