About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Built Environment Team to advise, programme manage and deliver on measures for energy saving and carbon efficiency across the non-residential portfolio.
Working from Crawley’s new Town Hall, you can make a real difference to Crawley, its people, and local businesses. 75 years on from its establishment as a new town, Crawley is now a regional powerhouse with more than 114,000 residents, a £6bn economy and Gatwick Airport, the world’s busiest single runway airport.
The post holder will need to be organised and committed to quality, ability to use their own initiative, have service and renewable energy construction knowledge and able to communicate to a variety of audiences. They will also be required to have a good financial understanding and be aware of funding opportunities available.
The post holder will need to be flexible and adaptable, to be responsible for all aspects associated with the preparation, design, supervision, construction, financial control and certification of decarbonisation and water neutrality works on the council’s non-residential asset portfolio.
With the new and updated Building Regulations, the council’s commitment to zero carbon, and water neutrality challenges, the post holder will need to be innovative and work with design teams to progress schemes to achieve these various standards.
You will work within cross council working groups and have the ambition and motivation to deliver a quality service and build relationships quickly.

Fixed term contract for 2 years.
A full and current UK driving licence is a requirement of the role.
Able to travel between sites and to any role-related contacts that may include customers, clients, suppliers, external organisations, and other Local Authorities.
