About our Organisation
The Soil Association, formed in 1946, is the only UK charity which works across the spectrum of human health, the environment and animal welfare. That’s because we cannot tackle these issues in isolation.
We campaign for change, we support farming innovation, we serve healthy food in communities, we support and grow the organic market, and we protect forests. We couldn't do any of this without our supporters, partners, donors and dedicated staff. We make a difference in the world where it’s needed the most.
About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Healthy and Sustainable Diets team working to develop our carbon calculator tool Cool Food Pro. Supporting the Project Manager this role will have varied experiences working with both internal and external stakeholders. Tasks encompassing admin, social media input and highlighting good practise will be coupled with opportunities to support caterers on-site and through events. Although working remotely and independently there are plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues and contribute to both the overall aims of the Soil Associations strategic objectives and agreed KPI’s with our funders.
About You
The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive admin experience within a busy role and an ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally. Knowledge of the impact of food systems on our environment and working with carbon calculator tools would be desirable but not essential. More importantly we are looking for someone willing to develop skills with a positive outlook skilled at time management and working in a fast-paced role. If you have great organisational skills and take pride in your attention to detail this role would be ideal.
Commitment to Safeguarding
The Soil Association and FFL are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults that we work with. In accordance with this commitment we ensure that we follow a thorough and safe recruitment and selection process for all roles that work with children. This includes checking against the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) where appropriate. Please note that if you are successful in your application to the role any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
