About this opportunity

The Project Officer – Transport will ensure the planning, management, delivery, monitoring, and support of transport programmes and projects, improving service provision within the Transport Services Team and leading the implementation of transport-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

The role involves developing and implementing complex projects, ensuring effective stakeholder consultation, progress monitoring, and impact evaluation.

You will allocate and manage activities to ensure timely project delivery, oversee risks, and collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders.

Supporting and managing identified staff is essential, as is ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory requirements.

You will also prepare and monitor project funding, adhering to internal governance procedures, and prepare necessary documentation and reports.

Qualifications and Skills:

We seek candidates with a Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience and ongoing professional development.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of public, private, and third sector organisations and transport legislation.

Proven experience in managing complex projects and delivering service improvements is required.

You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication, analytical, and budget management skills.

Proficiency in IT, particularly spreadsheets, is essential. A customer-focused approach and commitment to equal opportunities are crucial.
