Projects and Training Officer (up to December 2025)
If you have an ambition to work in Projects and Training and want to learn more about how we use data in the GMC, then this opportunity is for you. You will play a leading role in bringing structure to our growing catalogue of processes and guidance to help us manage the important and challenging change projects we’re connected to.
The Data, Research and Insight Hub (DRIH) supports our teams through qualitative and quantitative data reporting, analysis and creation of insights and reports. A lot of our work supports several major annual publications and aims to drive evidence-based decision making both internally, and in healthcare organisations across the UK. The Projects, Systems and Training team (PST) support our colleagues in DRIH through project management guidance and support, the creation and delivery of training materials and rolling out changes to systems.
The main responsibilities will be to:
- Organising our library of training materials and supporting the delivery of workshops in virtual and face-to-face sessions.
- Work with DRIH project managers to ensure our minimum standards of project reporting are maintained.
- Contribute to the delivery of a new document control process in DRIH.
- Lead on communication activity within DRIH, including our newsletter.
Full time (35 hours Monday to Friday). We are happy to consider a range of flexible working options. The successful candidate will generally be expected to meet in the office once per fortnight, with occasional additional days, especially during the induction period.
You can find more detail on the tasks you will undertake, and the essential skills required for the role, in the job description.
How to apply for the role
Please provide a CV and covering letter. The covering letter should clearly set out how you meet the essential skills for the role, which are listed in the job description. You should also include a paragraph outlining your reasons for applying for the role.
We recommend no more than 2 sides of A4 for the covering letter, but it can be more if required.
We will assess the information you provide against the skills required for the role and let you know whether you will progress to the next stage of the recruitment process.
If you do not provide all the above, we will not be able to progress your application.
