About the team?
Property Asset Management are responsible for the maintenance, inspection, repair / renewal of Operational Property assets in line with our contract obligations and the Station Access Conditions across all GWR Stations and other Commercial Leased Premises.
We have a certification in ISO55001:2014 for Asset Management supporting our development and capabilities in managing our asset systems through a set of strategies deployed through our Stations Asset Management Plan.

Join our team on our asset management journey on the day-to-day contract management for our Operational Property portfolio. Providing a quality service that optimises the asset life-cycle delivery through excellence in asset management safely, efficiently and sustainably.
As a department we have a number of contracts delivering a wide range of services from Facilities Management (Station Maintenance), Station Information Security Systems (Telecoms) to a number of annualised programmes including Station Painting and Minor Emerging Works / Renewals, deployed through their respective Asset Group Plans.
Working in collaboration with our internal and external Stakeholders managing their expectations and needs. Ensuring compliance with GWR's safety management systems and asset management system requirements certified to ISO55001:2014.
Your main responsibilities will be:
As Property Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration for a number of Property Contracts relating to the maintenance, repair and renewals to our Operational Property portfolio in line with GWRs contract obligations.
The candidate will be required to:
- Lead on the contractual obligations and support our organisational requirements to identify changes to the contracts.
- Evaluate the performance of the Property Contracts, ensuring the effectiveness and value management in line with the contract requirements.
- Report on the Property Contracts in line with their performance, effectiveness and suitability, providing any recommendations on our current / future state business requirements.
- Provide effective support to the Property Asset Management team in setting out the Strategy & Planning approach for all Property Contracts in line with our asset management system requirements.
- Develop the relationship with our Supply Chain promoting a collaborative partnership, ensuring effective contract management skills representing GWRs core business values
You'll need to be:
- Organised with the ability to prioritise workload
- Able to establish relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
- Customer focused
- Able to challenge and make informed decision making
As a minimum you'll need to have:
- Qualification in a disciplined field - Built Environment, Facilities Management, Construction Management and / or Engineering
- IOSH Managing Safely trained or willing to complete training
- Professional Membership of an external accreditation professional body appropriate for role
- Knowledge of Legal documentation
- Experience in Contract Management, including working with various contract types
- Awareness or Experience in Facilities Management and / or Asset Management.
- Experience in working in the Built Environment / Construction Industry
About the location?
As well as being based in Swindon the role also requires operating and managing over a large geographical area of the GWR operational network. Therefore, the candidate must be willing to travel across our network on a regular basis to familiarise themselves with our property asset portfolio and develop relationships with our internal and external stakeholders, including the undertaken of planned Safety Tours
