Proposals Writer - UK based - Hybrid Working - £40,000 -£45,000

We're building something special at Cpl; Ireland's largest staffing business that now fall under a $4bn group are strategically looking to grow and develop their UK offering by recruiting a Proposals Writer to support our established UK suite of brands on the next phase of their exciting journey.

Role Overview

As a Proposals Writer focused on the UK, you will work in collaboration with Cpl’s senior sales and internal business partners across all pillars of the organisation to develop compelling proposals that meet our clients’ needs and differentiate us from competitors. You will have responsibility for ensuring we submit high quality customer-focused proposals for UK public sector and semi state clients. You will optimise our proposal processes & support services and play a key role in taking this function to the next level.

This role requires the highest levels of attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines. This is an exciting and hands-on opportunity in a faced paced environment. You will have access to all areas of the Cpl Group and establish relationships with all key stakeholders within the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough research and analysis of tender opportunities, market trends, and competitor landscape to inform strategy development for UK opportunities
• Identify and coordinate new business opportunities through all relevant online UK tender portals.
• Analyse proposal request documents to identify key content requirements.
• Work with key stakeholders to regularly review market opportunities relative to our existing proposal portfolio. Identify new service development/industry opportunities.
• Communicate and collaborate with relevant internal staff throughout the tender and proposal process.
• Collaborate with the UK legal team to review contractual terms and conditions in tenders.
• Work with relevant stakeholders to prepare, craft, and edit high-quality professional proposal submissions that are on brand while ensuring alignment with client requirements and showcasing our expertise and value proposition.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the bid process.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas to proposals and incorporate them into our strategies.
• Provide guidance and support to the team throughout the tender process, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Create and develop new frequently requested content/copy, case studies, etc.
• Categorise and update our central database of bids/ tenders information and ensure all bid activity is recorded on CRM (Salesforce).
• Prepare communications on proposal success stories and lessons learned.
• Produce proposal-related internal communications. Share trends/ insights and activity updates.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as requested.

Qualifications, Experience and Person Specification

• Previous knowledge of Bids, Tenders and Proposals within the UK is essential.
• Knowledge of legislation requirements when it comes to tendering in the UK.
• 2 years + in a recruitment/recruitment related role or bids/bids related role is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive tender responses.
• An exceptional level of attention to detail.
• Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
• Collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong relationships across teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent relationship-development and communication skills. Ability to engage effectively with external contacts and collaborate with colleagues.
• High level of proficiency with MS Suite.
• Experience in a professional services environment is preferred but not essential.
• Working knowledge of CRM (Salesforce) would be beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a business discipline would be beneficial, but not essential.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to identify key opportunities in complex tender environments is desirable.
• Very strong work ethic with proactive ability to work in a changing environment.
• Experience and knowledge of tenders would be beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided.
• The ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a team.
