Senior Ethical Trade Executive - (PSCP) Social Inclusion
Reports to: Senior Technical Manager (PSCP)
Location: London
Our specialists within the Social Impacts Team are right at the heart of what we do. Surrounded by some of the best specialists in the industry, you'll bring your own ideas to the business - helping to shape the future of our sustainable cotton programme supporting all our regional teams.
The postholder will shape the strategy and oversee delivery of the Primark Sustainable Cotton Programme's (PSCP) work to improve social outcomes for farmers, to protect their human rights, build their economic resilience, and provide a sustainable means of maintaining their agronomic knowledge. This will also help build cotton supply chain resilience, ensure compliance with legislation The postholder will focus on:
1) "Sustainable Lives" - the PCSP component which supports Social Inclusion and wellbeing of farmers.
2)
3) Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) - ensuring a credible approach to human rights due diligence, initially at farm level. Overseeing remediation of identified problems and driving continuous improvement aligned to best practise and mandatory reporting requirements.

What You'll Do:
Programme Management
  • Oversee delivery of the 'sustainable lives' and HRDD agendas across the PSCP. Track, monitor and communicate progress and drive continuous improvement based on learning and best practise.
  • Develop new initiatives that support the programme's social impact aims as required.
  • Lead production of thematic and regional delivery plans for implementation, assessing progress and developing solutions to challenges and identify learnings

Strategy and project development
  • On social impact;
    • develop an overarching strategy and sub-strategies for driving positive social impact through the programme.
    • Manage research partnerships as required for example on the financial inclusion agenda.
    • Frame and launch a research strategy on living incomes for farmers.
Knowledge Building, Reporting and Influencing
  • Act as a credible source of expertise and remain up to date on issues including living income, resilience, unpaid care work and gender-based violence . Use this to support PSCP innovation.
  • Develop and execute strategies for industry wide engagement and advocacy with other brands, schemes, industry players, donors etc to positively influence industry change, develop new partnerships, and support the achievement of the programme's goals

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject
  • Broad awareness of global sustainability trends and an expert on social impact and human rights.
  • Strong programme management, organisation and communications skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to build constructive relationships with and successfully influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
