This is an exciting opportunity to join Merton Council and its friendly and dynamic Public Health team. The post holder will take the lead on two key statutory partnerships in Merton, the Health and Wellbeing Board and the Combating Substance Misuse Partnership and contribute to improved outcomes for residents in Merton.
This is a high profile position and the post holder will support the Director of Public Health to develop and maintain key partnerships within the council and with external partners from health, care and in the community and voluntary sector to improve population health and reduce inequalities.
The post holder will work collaboratively and with autonomy on a number of strategically important programmes e.g. the development of a new Health and Wellbeing Strategy and further develop the leadership, effectiveness of the partnerships and oversee the development of shared plans with a whole system approach. They will have a good understanding and experience of Public Health, working with elected members, developing partnerships, effective governance and working with people who use health and care services.
