The Company
A large global business specialising in commercial construction have an exciting opportunity to join their busy finance team as an Accounts Payable & Payroll Assistant. The office is based within easy commutable distance from Bicester, Aylesbury, Thame and surrounds - you will require your own transport due to the location.
The Role
This is a busy role working within a small team providing direct support to the UK Financial Controller, looking after the Purchase Ledger, processing of business expenses and supporting the Payroll function. Key responsibilities include:
- Purchase Ledger: Supplier accounts set-up, processing PL invoices, bi-monthly payment run, supplier BACS, dealing with payment requests, reconcile Supplier Statements, monthly review of Aged Creditors Report and management of related supplier follow-up issues.
- Business Expenses: Manage and improve the Business Expense reimbursement process, reconcile accounts and ensure all expenses have sufficient receipt evidence for any HMRC audit, manage the company fuel cards, and support the P11D submission process.
- Intercompany Reconciliations: Ongoing maintenance of AR and AP balances, cross-reconciliation at month end.
- Payroll: Input payroll to capture all data and management of the process until pre-commit stage.
- Cover for the Accounts Receivables activities, in their absence.
About You
- You will be Part-Qualified with a minimum of 2 years experience in AP, Business Expenses and/or Payroll Support.
- Commercial awareness and ability to understand the impact on relationship with Suppliers.
- Process orientation and attention to detail.
- Positive 'can do’ attitude and focus on timely completion of tasks with quality output.
- Disciplined, structured and high committed to the results, self-disciplined and reliable.
- Able to engage with others from different cultures and working backgrounds.
- Fluent English, both verbal and written.
- Intermediate to Advanced Level in Excel, and eagerness to learn and improve.
- Knowledge of business systems such as Microsoft NAV, Business Central or Dynamics 365, ADP Portal.

- Salary c£28-30k DOE.
