I am currently working with a well-known business seeking an organized and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team in Wolverhampton. This role has become available due to growth and expansion within the company. The successful candidate will be working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Purchase Ledger function.
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum DOE
Working Hours: 7am-5pm, 36 hours per week (Monday to Thursday)
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing all purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Reconciling supplier statements and dealing with any queries in a professional manner
- Ensuring that all invoices are approved for payment and processed within agreed timescales
- Reviewing and reconciling petty cash transactions
- Managing the purchase order system and ensuring that all orders are correctly authorized and processed
- Assisting with month-end procedures, including journal postings and reconciliations
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Providing ad-hoc support to the finance team as required
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar Purchase Ledger role is essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with accounting software, ideally Sage 50
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
