A great opportunity to work at well-known construction company in Heanor, Derbyshire. Offering a salary up to £28k, the client is seeking a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their ambitious and experienced team. Reporting directly to the Accounts manager, the role will involve supporting them with completing day to day tasks around Purchase ledger and other financial functions.
Duties:
- Maintenance of the Purchase Ledger
- Utilising Sage 50 Accounting software to process suppliers’ invoices and coding to the corresponding nominal code
- Maintaining and monitoring the shared inbox, handling all incoming emails, and actioning within an agreed timeframe
- Matching supplier invoices to the PO
- Sending remittance following payment and preparing the supplier payment run in conjunction with the accounts manager ready for processing
- Liaising with suppliers and colleagues to resolve any queries
- Verifying supplier statements and requesting absent documentation
- Completing monthly VAT audits on Suppliers to ensure the company is compliant in line with VAT regulations
- Preparation of the credit card statements ready for the accounts manager to process
- Completing customer and supplier account forms upon request
- General ad-hoc administrative duties when required
Person Specification:
- AAT Qualification is desirable
- Must have UK experience
- Experience working in a similar finance role is a must
- Strong MS Office skills
- Experience using Sage 50 Accounting software
- A keen eye for detail
- Clear communication skills
- A good work ethic
