Purchase Ledger Clerk

Hays are recruiting for a large successful transportation company based in Manchester, who are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with a leading UK expert in the transportation industry.
Your New Role
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:

• Process a high volume of invoices accurately and in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales.
• Investigate and resolve complex Purchase Ledger queries and act as an additional point of contact.
• Process and reconcile bank statements.
• Raising and posting journals.
• Match invoices against purchase orders to ensure that invoices are matched and coded correctly onto the accounting system.
• Assist the Finance Team with any further ad hoc requirements.
• Ensure new suppliers are set up accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process expenses.
• Preparing all weekly and monthly payment runs and setting up all payments.
• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records.

What you'll need to succeed
You will possess strong Purchase Ledger experience and be able to hit the ground running. You will have experience working with high volumes of work and therefore can work under pressure and deal with complex invoice processing and queries. You will have excellent communication skills in order to work efficiently within the team and communicate effectively with internal and external contacts. The successful candidate will ideally have experience using Dynamics or a similar integrated package.
