Job description

Office Angels are collaborating on a temporary basis with a thriving and growing finance team for a Purchase Ledger/Finance Assistant. The role is perfect for someone who has proven experience in a similar role. Based in Linlithgow, West Lothian, you will be office-based Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm for a minimum 6 month contract.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless financial transactions.
  • Ability to work independently in order to meet monthly finance deadlines.
  • Receive and process purchase invoices from vendors ensuring they are accurate and completed.
  • Manage and maintain the accuracy of the purchase ledger, ensuring compliance with financial procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive financial records.
  • Work closely with team members to contribute to the success of both Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger functions.
  • Reconcile supplier statements with the purchase ledger to identify and resolve discrepancies and communicate with vendors to address any billing or payment issues.
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain accurate financial records and streamline processes.
  • Work towards and achieve daily Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets.
  • Contribute actively to the success of the team by meeting and exceeding set goals.

What you'll need:

  • Experience in a similar role with a passion for finance.
  • Prior experience in dealing with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong team player and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to improve processes and bring new ideas.
  • Proven working knowledge of MS packages, especially Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt within a fast-paced environment.
