Job Title: Purchasing Administrator

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday (flexible start and finish times)

Location: Erdington

Salary: £24,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Administrator to join our client, a leading manufacturing company, who are specialists in their industry, based in Erdington. The successful candidate will have a positive work ethic with willingness to go above and beyond. Much of this role will require face to face interaction with clients as you will play an integral role in supporting with procurement requirements, so active listening and effective communication skills are key.

Duties include:

  • Supporting the Purchasing Manager with procurement requirements.
  • Processing approved requisitions and generating Purchase Orders for vendors.
  • Placing orders for consumables needed for production to prevent stock shortages.
  • Obtaining quotes, expediting urgent orders, and managing delivery notes and invoices.
  • Conducting regular stock counts.
  • Seeking cost-saving opportunities when creating requisitions.
  • Addressing invoice discrepancies through regular communication with the accounts department.
  • Using and maintaining the Syteline system.
  • Managing stationery orders and distribution.
  • Following up with suppliers to resolve quality-related credit issues.

Skills and experience required:

  • Experience in a Manufacturing background would be preferred.
  • Positive work ethic.
  • Excellent administration skills.
  • A high degree of self-management and initiative.
  • Strong IT skills.
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Able to take accountability and responsibility.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding customer service and client management skills.
