We are recruiting an experienced Purchasing Assistant to join a successful company based in the Oadby area.
Working for a privately owned company, the main purpose of this Purchasing Assistant role will be to management all purchasing for the business, develop supplier relations, co-ordinate procurement activities and ensuring on time delivery.
Duties and responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant:
- Place orders for material with various suppliers by email and by online ordering platforms
- Enquire about deliveries and supplies with suppliers
- Progress chasing with suppliers - pushing for the best delivery dates
- Negotiate prices with suppliers
- Management reporting with updates on project material
The ideal Purchasing Assistant candidate will have:
- Previous experience within a similar procurement, purchasing or buying role within a manufacturing or engineering environment ideally
- Good organisation skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maximise cost savings
- A strong work ethic and a team player mentality
