In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
We are now recruiting for a Purchasing Data Manager to work as part of our Purchasing team in Cwmbran. This is a brand new role and has been identified to support the business as we continue to grow!
The role of Purchasing Data Manager is to work closely with stakeholders across the SGB Purchasing team to lead the daily data management agenda e.g. creation/maintenance of Purchasing KPI's covering Quality, Cost and Delivery metrics. You will work closely with data owners and data stewards to ensure they understand and deliver to their data accountabilities while providing guidance/oversight to all data impacting system changes ensuring consequences are understood across the SGB Purchasing team.
The Purchasing Data Manager will be responsible for managing all Engineering Change Requests (ECR's) into the Purchasing Team while working closely with the Engineering team to ensure accurate data is provided in a timely manner as well as establishing a robust process. You will work closely with the Purchasing Methods and Tools (PM&T) specialist to create and develop Purchasing processes.
Key Responsibilities & Duties will include;
  • Engineering Change Request (ECR) management for purchased parts
  • Creation/maintenance of Purchasing KPI's (including but not limited to:-

Purchase Price Variance (PPV)
Purchase Requisitions
Invoice management
Product sourcing

Job requirements

Experience of working within a Purchasing role, eg. Strategic Buyer
Read and understand engineering drawings
Ability to communicate at all levels
Able to work on own initiative
Ability to establish good working relationships across departments and with supplier representatives at all levels
Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work
Strong team player
Computer literate with MS Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Outlook
Willingness and ability to work across all areas of operations
Flexible work approach in order to support the Business needs
Strong analytical, planning and problem solving skills.
