Description
This Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager role is a critical position required to support the current and future growth of the Howardson Group business. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Purchasing and Planning Manager's role involves leading the purchasing team in a dynamic manufacturing environment requiring a pragmatic approach to purchasing, planning, and Supply Chain management. You will focus on a range of tasks involved in keeping the material for production flowing while ensuring the best possible inventory levels and costs are achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accurate and timely supply of materials, goods, and equipment meets demand.
- Planning the production schedule.
- Develop and own appropriate departmental KPIs to ensure performance and improvement is measured and acted on
- Management of 1-2 staff members in the purchasing and planning team.
- Collaborate with design, sales, and production teams to facilitate effective demand planning whilst considering warehousing constraints.
- Seek the best possible price and service with suppliers, identifying and on-boarding new ones where necessary.
- Management of the Supply Chain.
- Problem solve and successfully build on the processes and procedures that are in place already.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure delivery targets are achieved.
Profile
- Experience in a senior purchasing /Supply Chain role, gained within a manufacturing environment
- Strong Excel and MRP/ERP skills
- End-to-end expereicne Inc. developing supplier relationships, managing vendor performance and lead times, planning Inc. demand/forecasting, production planning and material/supply planning
- Background in manufacturing/engineering essential
- Leadership experience - coach, develop, and mentor people (advantageous)
