You will be responsible for determining product acceptance to aerospace quality standards, customer requirements and regulatory requirements using a variety of inspection equipment and specifications.
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for:
Demonstrating Baker Hughes Values.
Being involved in day-to-day final inspection activity and adhering to business process, targets and working along with process owners.
Performing visual inspection against internal/customer specifications using good judgment regarding workmanship issues.
Performing incoming, in-process and final dimensional inspection using a variety of gauges; micrometres, callipers, test indicators, height gauges and table-top measuring equipment (FARO, CMM, Optical, Digital Shadowgraph) based on the specification drawing of the product to be measured.
Interpreting specification drawings, test results and charts to comprehend quality expectations for the product.
Assessing the conformance of the required standards to components produced within the facility.
Generating and processing NCR documentation on discrepant product.
Following inspection assignments and plans to ensure completion by the appropriate due dates and times.
Identifying waste, increasing efficiency, problem solving by utilizing LEAN and CI tools.
Performing all other duties assigned by process owner, supervisor, or manager.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
Have a NVQ Level 3 or time served engineering apprenticeship, with previous experience with aerospace components is preferable.
Have a NPL Level 3 training (desirable) or equivalent.
Have good experience of visual and dimensional inspection within aerospace standards is essential.
Have clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
Be pro-active, self-starter, patient and capable of managing their time effectively.
Have very good oral and written communication skills.
Have the ability to work independently.
Have very good problem-solving skills.
Have Continuous Improvement mindset.
Be proficient in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft office suite and SAP.
