My client is seeking a Quality Manager to join their established business which designs and manufactures components used within the electrical industry. The successful Quality Manager will join a successful organisation who have an excellent reputation in their industry, suppling their products to OEMs and end users across the world.
The Quality Manager will be responsible for ensuring that company’s portfolio of products is kept up to date, meeting required standards and compliances, to deliver best in class products to an international client base.
Responsibilities:
- Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance
- Develop quality-process links with customers inline with Production Part Approval Process, PPAP, and Advanced Product Quality Planning, APQP.
- Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies
- Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture
- Act as a point of contact for warranty issues
- Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts
- Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits
- Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
- Make sure that production processes meet required standards
- Define quality procedures in relation to operating staff
- Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures
- Conduct root cause investigations and corrective and preventative action plans on any nonconforming product
- Manage all quality-related issues within the manufacturing and engineering team
- Identify root cause and instigate corrective actions for product quality issues
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards
- Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented effectively
- Ensure compliance and adherence to the Quality Management system ISO9001
- Manage the high-level documentation of ISO45001
- Devise and deliver in-house training for quality awareness
- Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
- Assist with first off sample approvals
- Manage the Supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Manage and coordinate customer PPM (Parts per Million), supplier PPM, supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators
- Proven Quality Management in a manufacturing environment with relevant qualifications
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
- Membership of an industry related Professional Body would be advantageous
- Knowledge of quality systems and measurement
- Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, APQP, Production Part Approval Process, PPAP, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, FMEA.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
- Planning and prioritising activities
- problem solving skills including Six Sigma
- Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members
