Job description

Job Purpose

The Quality Officer will report directly into the Quality Manager providing comprehensive and efficient coordination across a range of quality assurance activities for all provisions at The Skills Network.

This role will work with a wide range of staff to support active participation in all quality assurance processes across the organisation. In addition, this role will work closely with funding partners, awarding organisations and external agencies to ensure robust and rigorous compliance with all quality standards and expectations.

A passionate and ambitious commitment to high quality education is a must for this post as well as a proven track record of achieving challenging targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively carry out quality assurance activities, including:
  • Investigating potential malpractice and maladministration, including reports of learner plagiarism, escalating where appropriate
  • Completing pre-certification checks on achieved learners and taking ownership to resolve where non-achievement is identified, in line with established procedures
  • Respond to appeals in line with the Appeals Policy, escalating where appropriate
  • Supporting with the preparation of external quality assurance activity undertaken by awarding organisations
  • Supporting with the preparation of funding partner audits and quality checks
  • Carrying out in depth Learner Journey Reviews and deep dives
  • Support Apprenticeships with EPA queries
  • Collate and maintain accurate and timely records relating to assessing/delivery team compliance and competency, including CPD records
  • Support the Quality Leadership team in developing and maintaining policies and procedures relating to quality, continually reviewing ways of working to ensure practice is in line with national and sector wide standards
  • Act as liaison with delivery teams and other departments at TSN to support with quality related matters, including LLDD and SEND
  • Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of TSN products, partners, processes and awarding organisation obligations
  • Provide administrative support to the wider quality team
  • Produce concise reports to inform leaders and managers of trends and key information, including suggested actions and improvement plans
