Quality Technician/Engineer – Central London This rapidly expanding organisation is seeking a Quality Technician/Engineer who will ensure, through inspection and the development of controls and processes, that they achieve zero defects. Key Accountabilities * Ensure that processes are controlled to defined standards and that products perform to required specifications * Carry out inspection of incoming materials and manufacturing or test processes * Ensure calibration and training records are kept up to date * Ensure work instructions and procedures are kept up to date and improved and help to develop new ones * Visit suppliers as required to help with audits and supplier approval * Investigate non-conformances, ensure that containment, corrective and preventative actions are implemented * Identify improvements in processes to reduce the risk of non-conformances * Develop reporting of quality performance * Contribute by example and training to improving the understanding of all employees of their role in achieving zero-defects Knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications Essential * Minimum of two years’ experience of quality inspection or quality control in an electronics or electro-mechanical environment * Minimum BTEC Ordinary Level in a technical subject * Solid understanding of electrical component and assembly inspection * Good understanding of mechanical inspection including tolerances, materials and finish * Examples of implementing improvements and reducing defects * Familiar with MS office applications and able to analyse data using Excel * Close attention to detail * An ability to work effectively under pressure. Desirable * Good understanding of quality techniques such as continuous improvement, root-cause analysis, 8D reports, 5S, PDCA etc * Experience of using ERP systems, ideally Odoo * Advanced ability with Excel in analysing data This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join an ambitious, forward thinking company, with clear career progression to Quality Manager.
