Quantitative Analyst (Python SQL) London / WFH to £65k
Opportunity for a STEM discipline postgraduate with an excellent record of academic achievement to establish / advance your career at a Commodities Trading firm, working with and learning from a hugely talented team at a specialist Hedge Fund with over £1billion in assets.
As a Graduate Quantitative Analyst you will work have the opportunity to work across two different sides of the business on a six month rotation; you'll receive training and be fully supported to progress your career as a Quant Analyst and in time can progress to portfolio management if desired. You'll be encouraged to learn and play to your strengths.
Typical responsibilities will involve implementing quantitative statistical models that are used to forecast elements of demand and supply of energy for European markets, with a focus on analysing weather data to identify Risk, partnering with experienced Quants and liaising with Portfolio Managers to deliver bespoke statistical models and methods.
WFH Policy:
You'll be working in a collegiate team environment based in North London with a small group of accomplished software / data engineers and finance entrepreneurs with flexibility to work from home three days a week in a hybrid model.
Requirements:
- You have completed your studies and have an excellent academic record of achievement; 2.1 or above at BSc, likely to have studied MSc / PhD level at an Oxbridge or Russel Group university
- You can code with at least one of the following: Python, C++ or C#
- You have strong SQL skills
- You're comfortable working with large data sets (e.g. statistics)
- You have experienced of implementing highly scalable, performant, low latency solutions
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Please note you should have completed your studies and be able to start the position immediately / following a four week notice period
