Main Civil Engineering Contractor Covering Midlands
Day-to-day management of the commercial aspects of the project, including cost management reporting, change management, procurement, and administration of sub-contracts and special supplies.
In-depth comprehension of the project's contractual and commercial obligations, encompassing contractual compliance, quality assurance, and risk management.
Proficient execution of monthly reconciliations and updated forecasts for review by the Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Proficiency in managing valuation cycles and associated deadlines, effectively prioritizing tasks for both oneself and the team.
Capability and confidence to handle dispute resolution and contractual matters with minimal guidance from the Commercial Manager/Senior Commercial Manager.
Establishment and nurturing of strong relationships with Carey's clients to facilitate agreement on valuations and variations.
Collaboration and fostering of productive relationships with site teams.
Support and collaboration with Assistant/Trainee Quantity Surveyors.
About You
Ideal candidates for these positions are experienced Quantity Surveyors with a proven track record in civil engineering contracting. They should possess strong commercial acumen, adept at cultivating relationships with clients, contractors, and operational teams. Key requirements include:
Demonstrated experience in civil engineering contracting, particularly on heavy civils/infrastructure/sub and super structure projects.
Proficiency in administering high-value, multi-disciplinary construction projects/contracts utilizing contract forms such as JCT and NEC suites.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
Ability to work efficiently under deadlines, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
Enthusiasm, drive, and professionalism in representing Careys with clients and contractors.

Standard 37.5-hour workweek, Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm.
