The Opportunity
As QS you will be working on an Electrical & Instrumentation contract supporting an upgrade program on the National Grid Gas Compression stations. Reporting to the Commercial Manager and independent of the site operations team the QS will ensure good governance and project controls are maintained. The QS will work collaboratively with the Project Manager and site teams to verify progress, control expenditure, and ensure the company’s financial objectives are met whilst delivering a first-class service to the customer.
Key accountabilities;
- Site measurement of progressed works
- Accurate reporting of progress and contract position
- Maintaining accurate cost accruals
- Production of estimates and pricing work
- Preparation, submission and agreement of valuations
- Raising Invoices
- Maintaining accurate WIP accruals
- Managing Sub-Contractor accounts
- Timely capture and agreement of contract variations with customers
- Preparation of accurate Cost vs Revenue reports as part of the month end process
The Person
The ideal candidate for the will have knowledge of divisional P&L finance, budgeting and contracts costing, as well as knowledge of Contract and Construction Law/Legislation. They will have be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, with strong written and verbal communications.
Essential:
- Experience in E&I Sector
- Experience of cost / value reconciliation.
- Contract experience, preparing valuations and claims for clients and subcontracting.
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
The role can be either remote working or based from our Teesside depot and will require occasional attendance at customer sites throughout the UK.
