Balfour Beatty Vinci has an exciting opportunity for a Rail Systems Engineer to join our team based in Coleshill, Warwickshire.
What you'll be doing
The Rail Systems Engineer is responsible providing multi-discipline support to the site engineering and site construction teams on behalf of the Rail Interface Team, and to act as a second for the Systems Integration Manager. Duties include:
- Act as the lead for multi-discipline works involving Railway trackside equipment and cabling
- To be the interface between BBV, HS2 and Network Rail when delivery of work involves Railway trackside equipment and cabling
- To ensure all design requirements for Signalling, Telecoms and E&P are covered off with
- To oversee critical site works which involve systems under remit
- To coordinate all resources where applicable to undertake necessary site works
- To ensure safety is maintained during site works
- To support Systems Integration Manager
The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Previous experience as Contract Responsible Engineer (CRE) in either Signalling, Telecoms or E&P
- Multi-discipline working knowledge of Rail systems – Signalling, Telecoms and E&P
- Good understanding of Network Rail practice and processes in particular the design process
- Collaborative skills as you will be working closely with Network Rail engineering and site teams to deliver HS2 conventional rail works
- Appreciation of the following: Work Package Plan (WPP), Task Briefing Sheet (TBS), Asset Management Process (AMP), Qualitative Risk Safety Assessments (QRSA), Technical Queries (TQ), Request For Information (RFI) and the appropriate timescales required
