Introduction
As Project Manager (FLOURISH Worshipping Communities in Schools/FE Colleges), you will support the Head of FLOURISH in managing a major funded pilot project launching and embedding 40 locations for worshipping communities in schools/FE colleges across the country, including project management tracking, evaluation, stakeholder engagement and operational support to each location as required.
You will be based from home (from a location in the UK) with some mandatory team days to attend.
The working hours for this post are 35 hours per week and the working arrangements will be discussed further at interview.

The Role
Project Development
- To support the planning and design of FLOURISH pilot projects confirming the outputs and outcomes to be delivered, alongside the appropriate lead and lag measures.
- To enable the implementation of effective planning, monitoring and delivery of the programme's outcomes.
- To implement the evaluation mechanisms by which lead and lag measures can be tracked, working with our externally commissioned research evaluation partners.
Project Management
- To support the day-to-day management of projects in support of FLOURISH leaders, proactively monitoring overall progress in relation to outcomes, time and budget.
- To track project deliverables using appropriate tools, making recommendations for resource allocation for effective project delivery.
- To evaluate and resolve any risks and issues that arise, supporting the Head of FLOURISH to initiate corrective action as appropriate.
- To lead the planning and implementation of multiple low or medium complexity projects.
Change Management & Communications
- To collate day-to-day stakeholder engagement, building on positive feedback and identifying any barriers to change.
- To comply with the NCIs Project Management Framework and best practice, working with other NCI project managers to develop a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential
Skills/Aptitudes:
- Strong relationship building with a wide variety of partners within and beyond the organisation.
- Leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to bring order to complex situations and find innovative ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
- Systematic organisational skills in relation to managing a very significant number of relationships.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Experience of project management across multiple projects or programmes, and practical application of the tools and techniques involved.
- Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects or programmes, including risk and issue management.
- A desire to serve the mission of the national Church of England and a passion about enabling church growth through the relationship between churches and schools.
Education:
- A Level or vocational equivalent qualifications.
Personal Attributes:
- Ability to think strategically and act pragmatically; able to produce plans and deliver results without losing sight of the strategic context.
- Change management skills and the ability to promote good practice, deal with conflict and address any barriers or resistance to change.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong sense of collegiality and team.
Desirable
Education:
- Degree level qualifications or equivalent.
- Qualifications in project or programme management.
Skills/Aptitudes:
- Digital experience using project management software or IT platforms to manage projects with effective delivery.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Understanding of the organisational structure, breadth and dynamics of the Church of England, including the work of the Growing Faith Foundation.
- Understanding of the Church of England Vision for Education and the opportunities it offers to engage the whole sector.
