Refuge-based Domestic Abuse Support Worker
A key role in our Accommodation provision is that of our passionate and dedicated Support Workers, we currently have a full time vacancy to join this busy team in our Keighley refuges.
About the role
As a Domestic Abuse Support Worker, you will be supporting individuals and families living within our temporary supported accommodation. You will work in a trauma informed way, helping to create individual support packages to safeguard and reduce the risk of further harm and help clients achieve their individual goals. You will work with partner agencies in a collaborative way, ensuring a holistic think family approach. In this challenging but rewarding role will help individuals realise their true potential, helping clients to feel more empowered and confident in moving towards safe and independent living.
Full time, 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, £25,971. Fixed term until 31st March 2025, pending contract renewal.
About you
We are looking for someone with a history of with individuals who have experienced Domestic Abuse/sexual violence or a vulnerable client group, with complex/multiple needs. You will have sound working knowledge of safeguarding and MARAC processes and up-to-date knowledge of housing, welfare rights and civil/criminal proceedings to enable you to provide a robust package of support for clients.
We are looking for someone who has a can-do attitude and the passion and drive to help people gain confidence in their daily lives and feel empowered. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have a patient and friendly approach, as well as being able to work on you own initiative and in partnership with colleagues and external agencies.
We are looking for someone who speaks a South Asian language, as this will help us provide the best care and support to our clients.
