Permanent full-time and part-time opportunities available / Location: Hughenden
Utilising clinical skills, knowledge and experience the position holder will deliver a high standard of evidence-based person-centred care to patients, providing support to patients, families and other healthcare colleagues within the Hughenden Multipurpose Health Service.
The ideal candidate will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
- Ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
- Knowledge of legal and professional responsibilities.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
- High standard of written and oral communication skills within the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
- Ability to use or learn to use information systems appropriate to the position.
- Ability to provide clinical education and support and demonstrate own ongoing professional development.
- Ability to demonstrate competency as outlined in the NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice.
Generous remuneration package value up to $117,296 p.a. comprising:
- Salary range of $3079.50 to $3950.00 p.f. or $40.51 to $51.97 p.h. (Nurse Grade 5)
- Annual leave with relevant loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Requirements:
- Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
- This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
- Highly Desirable: Experience in Emergency Department, Rural Nursing and a current Adult Life Support certificate or willingness to work towards.
- Adult Life Support Certificate: Must be able to obtain and then maintain an annual competency in Advanced Life Support as per Townsville Hospital and Health Service policy Life Support Training and Assessment -THSDCLI040151v6 (http://qheps.health.qld.gov.au/tville/policies/thsdcli/thsdcli040151.pdf(PDF) ( http://qheps.health.qld.gov.au/tville/policies/thsdcli/thsdcli040151.pdf ))
- Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
- Aged Care Pre Employment Screening will be required or National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check.
- Possession of class C drivers' licence.
- Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
