- Client Support and Assistance:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and medication management.
- Implement individualized rehabilitation plans developed by the rehabilitation team.
- Encourage and motivate clients to participate in therapeutic activities and exercises.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor clients' progress and report any changes or concerns to the Rehabilitation Specialist or Rehabilitation Manager.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' activities, progress, and interventions.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to evaluate and adjust rehabilitation plans as necessary.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Advocate for clients' needs and rights, promoting their independence and autonomy.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for clients and staff.
- Adhere to relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards in the provision of rehabilitation services.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of clients' information at all times.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance competencies and stay updated on best practices in Rehabilitation Support.
- Engage in reflective practice and seek supervision and feedback to improve performance and service delivery.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in rehabilitation, healthcare, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a rehabilitation setting is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- First Aid and CPR certification may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to assist clients with mobility, including lifting and transferring.
- Comfortable with performing personal care tasks as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Good manual dexterity and physical stamina.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time
- Shifts range from 8am-11am or 8am-4pm
- Monday - Friday over 3-5 days depending on client
