Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives to enhance expertise in political violence modelling and awareness.
- Drive model development within the Tyche framework.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to refine threat parameterization.
- Play a pivotal role in treaty pricing utilizing Tyche framework.
- Showcase your VBA proficiency to optimize data collection tools.
- Act as a liaison between various teams and actuaries.
- Conduct meticulous independent checks using SQL.
- Spearhead the documentation of processes to meet governance standards.
- Provide crucial validation and governance support for pricing models.
- Develop innovative tools to benefit multiple teams and foster strong relationships.
- Ensure compliance with actuarial technical guidance and requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on strategic risk management endeavours.
- Identify and propose actions related to emerging risks.
- Cultivate a culture of positive risk management within the team.
Skills/Competencies:
- Exceptional communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel and VBA.
- Adaptability to new coding languages.
- Previous experience in reinsurance (preferred).
- Familiarity with Natural Catastrophe models (preferred).
- Strong SQL and database management skills.
- Exposure to geocoding tools such as QGIS (preferred).
Qualifications:
- FIA or equivalent certification.
- Bachelor's degree.
Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience within a general insurance actuarial department.
